This is my favorite picture I’ve taken of a Common Yellowthroat. They’re striking little songbirds, and while not rare (they’re called “common” for a reason), I find them tricky to get a picture of, what with all their moving from spot to spot in dense marshes and thickets and flying from branch to branch to catch insects, as warblers do. So, this one that paused to pose in the open last summer remains memorable.
Anyway, Photos picked this picture to feature on my iPhone’s lock screen twice in the last week. Which reminded me of how much I loved this picture, and moment, and bird. So, I figured that was worth sharing with people, not just with an electronic device, though I am using an electronic device to share it with you…
I haven’t figured out a way around that, except to suggest going outside and hoping you spy a cute little songbird too.
